It really does help and has no side effects. I only have to take one pill a day but some people need more. When I am stressed or feeling like I could have an outbreak I just take a few more extra and in a few days it's back to one a day. I accidently ran out recently. And guess what, I got a terrible cold, my first one in years. And then a small outbreak shortly after. I made sure to never run out again.These herbs really work. We are not natural fanatics but strongly try to avoid drugs when possible (because of side effects and chemicals). I have been using the Herpes Herbs for years and THEY DO WORK! You must take them as directed though. If you skip taking them you could have an outbreak.I would think you need to take Valtrex on a regular basis as well.
